All three Heavyweight Championships are on the line at Backlash which takes place on the 26th of April at the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence, RI.

At WrestleMania John Cena claimed the World Heavyweight Championship from Edge, Triple H retained his WWE Championship at Randy Orton's expense and the ECW Champion Jack Swagger got the night off.

Now less than a month later all three Champions will defend their titles at Backlash in what promise to be three extraordinary matches.

Jack Swagger (c) Vs. Christian for the ECW Championship

Christian looked like he might be in line to win the title almost as soon as he appeared on the scene in ECW, scoring a non-title victory over Swagger on the night he returned and then being given a title shot just a few weeks later. However, it wasn't to be and after losing the first match for the gold he faded out of the title picture and began pursuing the coveted Money in the Bank briefcase.

Since retaining the title against Christian, Swagger went on to have a mini-feud with Finlay which saw him put the belt on the line and successfully defend it against the fighting Irishman at No Way Out. Then in a bizarre move by the creative team, the 'All-American American' sat out the biggest show of the year, barely showing his face around the time of WrestleMania.

After winning a very enjoyable 'Elimination Chase to Backlash' tournament which saw Mark Henry, Tommy Dreamer and Finlay all fall at the wayside, Christian is now firmly back in the title picture and has the chance to leave Providence, RI with the ECW Championship.

It should be a great match if previous encounters between the two are anything to go by, but is likely to be overshadowed by the other title matches on the card.

Prediction: Despite being driven through a table by Swagger just days before the event, Christian should leave Backlash with the gold.

John Cena (c) Vs. Edge in a Last Man Standing Match

The main idea behind this match has been that Edge and Cena have done everything. They've faced each other in a slew of matches over the past few years and have taken things to ridiculous lengths in order to get a victory over the other, whether in a physical battle or one involving mind games.

Edge has invaded Cena's home and slapped his father, cashed in Money in the Bank and stole the Title immediately after Cena had won a demanding Elimination Chamber match and very recently slammed Cena with a brutal Con-Chair-To.

Cena has beaten Edge for Heavyweight Titles numerous times, which will no doubt have hurt the Rated R Superstar just as much as the seemingly more abhorrent acts he has executed himself.

The Last Man Standing Match seems to be used a lot more frequently than it used to, but in a situation such as this it makes the perfect end to a long running feud.

Prediction: Edge should re-claim the title as Smackdown is currently without a Heavyweight belt and this would be the best way to move one over. Don't be surprised if C.M Punk makes the most of his Money in the Bank at the climax of this one.

Team Triple H (c) Vs. Legacy for the WWE Championship

The rivalry between Orton's Legacy and the McMahon family has been building for quite a while now and all stems from Orton's abrupt eviction from Evolution over four years ago. Triple H took everything from the young legend killer and now he wants to return the favour, focusing first on The Game's family and now on his WWE Championship belt.

The rules of this one are pretty unique, with Triple H's title in jeopardy in a number of ways. Should any member of Team Triple H (Triple H, Shane McMahon or Batista) get disqualified, Randy Orton wins the title. Should any member of Team Triple H get pinned by any member of Legacy (Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes or Ted DiBiase) then Orton also leaves with the title.

However, should any member of Team Triple H pick up a pinfall or any member of Legacy get disqualified, then The Game retains his title.

Triple H's chances of leaving Backlash with his title were bolstered by the return of The Animal: Dave Batista, but since then the three men fighting for the honour of the McMahon family haven't exactly seen eye to eye and Orton has already hinted that his opposition may implode and gift him the championship.

Prediction: Orton to leave Backlash as the Champ, perhaps leading to a triple threat match for the title with Batista and Triple H challenging.
