As well as the much anticipated 40-Man Royal Rumble Match there are also two World Championships and the Divas Championship scheduled to be defended at the WWE's first Pay Per View of the year.
Natalya will square off against Lay-Cool in a 2 on 1 Handicap match for the Divas Championship, The Miz looks to keep hold of his WWE Championship in a battle against Randy Orton and Edge hopes to leave with his World Heavyweight Championship when Dolph Ziggler steps up to the plate for his first title shot.
Natalya Vs. Lay-Cool in a 2 on 1 Handicap Match for the Divas Championship at The Royal Rumble 2011
For weeks almost all the build surrounding the Divas championship has involved freshly turned Heel Melina, gunning for the platinum Natalya currently has draped over her shoulder.
However, just a week before the rumble Melina got her shot at the belt in what seemed to be a rushed bout on Raw.
Natalya subsequently retained with one of the most hyper-extended SharpShooters in WWE History, at which point Lay-Cool emerged to announce their re-match, which will take place at The Royal Rumble.
Lay-Cool have been more pre-occupied with The Glamazon; Beth Phoenix in recent weeks, so she's almost certain to have an impact on the bout at some point or another.
Prediction: Melina to interfere, Beth to make the save then challenge Natalya after she retains the belt.
Dolph Ziggler Vs. Edge (c) for the World Heavyweight Championship at The Royal Rumble 2011
At long last Dolph Ziggler seems to have broken through the glass ceiling and made it to the main event scene.
Not many Superstars can lose the Intercontinental Championship, lose the subsequent re-match and yet end up a confident #1 contender for the World Heavyweight Championship all in one night, but Ziggler managed it just a few short weeks before the Royal Rumble.
Since then the Blonde Bombshell has gone on to be a staple of all three of WWE's main shows, stealing the spotlight on NXT and Raw as well as his home brand; Smackdown.
Edge hasn't been without his moments either though, and during a 'Cutting Edge' segment he was quick to point out Ziggler had merely employed a tried and tested method he used a few years back, dating Vickie Guerrero to get to the top.
Ziggler has come close to titles before only to miss out spectacularly (his early shots at the Intercontinental Championship against Rey Mysterio and John Morrison for example) and it's likely the same will happen at The Rumble too, with Edge only having won the gold a short while ago.
Prediction: Edge to retain the gold, setting up a re-match down the line and cementing Ziggler's spot in the Elimination Chamber next month.
The Miz (c) Vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Championship at The Royal Rumble 2011
The Miz, much like Dolph Ziggler, is another young Superstar who served his time in the mid-card and has finally broken through into the main event.
Prior to The Miz's arrival in the title picture the deep end of Raw's talent pool had become a little stale.
John Cena, Randy Orton, Batista and to an extent Sheamus had been trading the belt for a good few months, but Sheamus hadn't done the mid-card work and quickly dropped out of the hunt, leaving just three.
Batista quit the company too, meaning that for a while John Cena and Randy Orton were the only real main eventers on the brand.
Wade Barrett filled in momentarily, mainly to get his mandatory title shot out of the way, but it wasn't until The Miz cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on a weakened Randy Orton that things began to freshen up.
Miz and Orton have been doing the standard cowardly Heel / vengeful Face thing ever since, and it will all culminate at the rumble when the belt will be back on the line.
A victory for either man is possible as next month's Pay Per View 'Elimination Chamber' gives the writers a chance to shift the belt in one of five ways, meaning they don't have to keep the belt on the person they want to headline WrestleMania.
Prediction: Expect Miz to win due to Riley's interference, giving Orton an automatic spot at Elimination Chamber.
